ABOUT OUR SHORTBREAD
Authentic pure butter shortbread from a family recipe since 1979
Behind every great family recipe is a legacy. Samantha McDiarmid made authentic Scottish shortbread for friends and family since 1979. The recipe was passed down to her from her mother Jessie. A world traveler, Samantha and her husband lived in several different countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and the United States. And wherever she lived, she made her shortbread!
Samantha was a godly woman whose kindness, dedication, and strong spirit were an inspiration to everyone she knew. Using four simple ingredients – butter, flour, salt, and sugar – she fashioned a mouth-watering treat that so many people found irresistible. But there was another reason it was so good. A secret ingredient in every home-made batch…prayer. Samantha would pray for each person (and family) who ordered her shortbread. While kneading the dough, she would take her requests to the Lord. In this way, she would bless every family who ate her shortbread, long after the last bite was eaten!
Samantha is now in the presence of her Savior after passing away from lymphoma cancer in 2012. Her legacy and her great-tasting shortbread are now carried on by her children and grandchildren.
