Poetry and Song

For centuries, Scots and enthusiasts of Scotland have expressed their love for the country and its charms in poems and songs. Perhaps Sir Walter Scott, one of Scotland's finest writers, said it best in "My Own, my Native Land":  

"Breathes there the man with soul so dead,

                                Who never to himself hath said,

This is my own, my native land!

   Whose heart hath ne'er within him burn'd,

                           As home his footsteps he hath turn'd..."
