| Simply Scottish Media is extremely proud to unite in partnership with Scotland's supreme legislative body, the Parliament of Scotland. Although Scotland has had a parliament for centuries (excluding the years 1707-1999), 1999 saw the creation of her first truly democratic parliament. The goal of Simply Scottish Media is to share Scotland with the world, and in partnership with The Scottish Parliament, we continue to do so. |

Trilogy | Jointly produced by The Scottish Executive and The
Scottish Parliament, Caledonian Trilogy is the official film of National
Tartan Day 2001. It weaves three traditional Scottish songs together
through a rich array of footage of Scotland, Scotland's people, and the
Scottish Parliament opening. The film celebrates the ties that bind
Scotland and America, and gets its name from the American Trilogy, a
collection of three American songs that Elvis Presley often sang in the
1970's.
Scottish
Parliament Opening Ceremony, 1999 | On July 1st, 1999, history was
made in Scotland as The Scottish Parliament re-opened after almost 300
years on hold. It was a day of great celebration, fanfare, music,
fireworks, speeches, promises, parades, and national pride. Experience
the day again or for the first time.
